 K-Syndrom

a music project started in 2010. They have been focusing on writing their first album all along this first year. Founded by a musician who had already proven himself in the European underground (Forest Of Souls, Forge) and more recently in asian rock scene (Stereovibes), K-Syndrom came from an old idea to step away from his usual influences and explore different musical horizons. One the most symbolic illustration, is the total lack of guitars in the first album. Bold bet and true line of conduct that have made this first album sound both dark and sharp, but definitely electronic. Some songs were composed in a ‘classic’ way and destructed/restructured to achieve a purely electro result.

In 2011, the project is joined by several musicians, who brought their own influences and made k-Syndrom’s live gigs a totally different experience from the recordings. This freedom to let any member involved creating their own musical parts on the existing foundation is a cornerstone of the project. If it is true that it was first led by a single individual, K-Syndrom’s live experience is a band experience above all, each new musician changing the whole perception.

K-Syndrom more than a band, is on top of everything an idea on how to conceive music. A concept, which aims to evolve and change over time. A concept also in how to think each new album. If styles and influences will evolve, great care will be provided to give meaning and shape to each new album of the project.

At first look, it’s not obvious that ‘true love’ is a concept album, but it is indeed a conceptual work, combining both fiction and reflection. Name of the album deliberately misleading refers to several songs that are yet perfectly antagonistic. But also refers to the protagonist’s fundamental question in this simple and terrifying story. None of this is available at first and will be revealed only to those who will look beyond the nine tracks included on the disc. This reading drawer of a modern musical project is part of K-Syndrom’s DNA. You can even see this as a kind of syndrome that will surely occur in each future release.

Now, on the release of ‘true love’, a new step is being written, including promotion and booking gigs, to share with as many people as we can our idea of music.
